What it checks

Meta data

Title and description length, canonical, robots directives, Open Graph, Twitter Cards, JSON-LD and favicon.

Structure & quality

H1–H6 outline with hierarchy gaps, word count, text-to-HTML ratio and image alt coverage.

Links

Internal, external and nofollow distribution, plus links with no readable anchor text.

Technical

HTTP status, redirect chain, HTTPS, TTFB, compression, payload size, robots.txt and sitemap discovery.

Core Web Vitals

LCP, CLS, TBT, FCP and Speed Index from the free Google PageSpeed Insights API, on demand.

Safe by default

Public URLs only — private and loopback addresses are blocked, every fetch is time-boxed and size-capped.

How the score works

Every check is weighted by status — good = 1, warning = 0.5, error = 0, informational checks are ignored. The average becomes the on-page score out of 100.

When you run PageSpeed Insights, the headline score becomes a blend: 65% on-page, 15% performance, 12% PSI SEO and 8% accessibility. Missing PSI categories give their weight back to the on-page score.

Known limitations

  • ·Single page only — full-site crawling, broken-link discovery and duplicate-content detection are not part of this tool.
  • ·Checks run against the server-rendered HTML. Content injected by client-side JavaScript will not be counted (which is exactly how many crawlers see it too).
  • ·No backlink or domain-authority data — those require paid providers, so nothing here pretends to estimate them.

Want these issues fixed properly?

I build and optimise Next.js applications that score well because they're architected well — not because of last-mile patches.
